В Новосибирске создали плазменные и лазерные технологии для ремонта самолетов

The developments will allow creating protective coatings and improve the quality of aircraft repair

At the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ITPM SB RAS), a technology for restoring engine blades and a plasma spraying unit for repairing aircraft engines have been created. This was reported in the press service of the university.

The new device makes it possible to apply plasma spraying to create heat-resistant and wear-resistant coatings. The technology is planned to be used for the repair of aviation gas turbine engines.

The second development is a method of high-strength laser welding of aviation materials (aluminum-lithium, aluminum and titanium alloys). The technology allows preserving the aerodynamic profile of the part due to laser surfacing of cermet and metal coatings.

Experts also proposed a method for cleaning engine blades using a pulsed-periodic carbon laser. It allows cleaning the metal from oxidation products after casting.

Earlier www1.ru reported that unique equipment will appear at PC "Salyut".
