Footage has appeared online of what is believed to be the first combat loss of the Russian Inokhodets-RU reconnaissance drone. It could have been shot down by the Strela-10M3 anti-aircraft missile system, according to military expert Evgeny Damantsev.
The analyst noted that a key role in the detection and capture of the Inokhodets-RU was played by the photo-contrast sensor of the three-band optoelectronic homing head of the anti-aircraft missile, which also provides interception of small-sized aircraft-type UAVs.
But the most important factor in what happened can be considered the reduction in the operating altitude of the Inokhodets-RU from the standard 6300 - 5700 m to 3500 - 3300 m, while the altitude limit for intercepted targets for the 9M37M SAM is 3500 m.
In his opinion, a factor of carelessness on the part of the operator is likely, or a malfunction of the autopilot, which led to a decrease to a height of less than 3500 m.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Russian soldiers have learned to effectively destroy heavy enemy Baba Yaga drones. They ram them with FPV drones.
