Gas turbine engines (GTEs) are used in aviation technology. Scientists from Perm Polytechnic University have proposed a new logic for operating GTEs, which will make their operation more stable during takeoff and landing. This was reported in the press service of the university.
As explained in the press service, a special automatic control system (ACS) is responsible for the processes inside the GTE. Usually, a selector is installed in the GTE, that is, a switch that selects one of the control channels for the engine parameters. For example, the fan speed, gas temperature limit.
The selector operates on the basis of multitasking logic. Perm specialists proposed using a selective adaptive fuzzy group regulator of ACS channels, which reduces the transition time while maintaining resistance to interference.
The Head of the Department of Automation and Telemechanics of PNRPU, Alexander Yuzhakov, explained that such a regulator allows switching channels gradually. This increases the engine life and makes its operation more stable, he summarized.
