Poll: 61% of Muscovites Plan to Vote Remotely in Moscow City Duma Elections

Nearly two-thirds of respondents intending to vote in the Moscow City Duma elections plan to vote electronically

According to a sociological survey conducted by the Russian Field research group, 61% of respondents intending to vote in the Moscow City Duma elections expressed a preference for using дистанционное электронное голосование (ДЭГ) (remote electronic voting).

The study covered 1000 Muscovites and was conducted from August 16 to 18, 2024. Of those planning to participate in the elections, 57% stated their intention to vote, with 35% preferring to do so in the traditional way - in person at polling stations.

The survey showed that interest in the elections is particularly high among women and people over 60. Notably, 67% of respondents cited the "Million Prizes" program as an additional incentive to participate in ДЭГ. The program involves a prize draw among participants in remote voting, which significantly increases its attractiveness.

In the Moscow City Duma elections, which will be held from September 6 to 8, a new voting procedure will be introduced, with priority given to electronic forms. Voters will be able to vote remotely via the Internet or using electronic terminals at polling stations.
