MTS Urent Unveils Self-Developed Cargo Bikes

They are planned to be used for courier delivery

Kicksharing company MTS Urent, in collaboration with Eleven, has developed the Urent Kubo cargo bike. It is planned to be used for courier delivery, the company's press service reported.

The model will not be able to reach speeds exceeding 25 km/h due to a built-in limiter. The cargo bike is equipped with an IoT module. It can determine geolocation, has anti-theft functions (alarm, blocking), and a removable battery that can only be unlocked in the application.

The Urent Kubo has a large-capacity battery that allows the electric scooter to be used for 8-12 shifts. For comfortable riding in winter, the tires can be changed to winter tires.

The cargo bike is adapted for riding in cold weather. The device is equipped with a closed braking system and electrical circuit, as well as all-wheel drive. This makes it safe to move on ice, snow, and wet asphalt.

For the driver's comfort, there is a protective screen and a moisture-resistant seat. One of the configurations includes a special "blanket" for wind protection.

The model includes side marker lights, front and rear lights, turn signals, rear-view mirrors, and reflective license plates. The transport will not go unnoticed at night.

For courier transportation of goods, the cargo bike is equipped with a special spacious case.

The launch of cargo bikes is a pilot project for us, in which we are testing a number of hypotheses. It was important for us to develop a reliable and safe transport for delivery that meets all regulatory requirements: it has a speed limit, is equipped with a tracker to comply with slow zones and better controllability.
Ivan Turinge, CEO of MTS Urent

This year, 100 cargo bikes will be tested. Further scaling of the project will depend on the data provided by couriers.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that MTS Urent presented a new electric scooter for traffic police officers.
