Комфортнее Airbus A320 и Boeing 737: пассажирский МС-21 собирают всей Россией

56 main suppliers are working on creating the aircraft's components, and about 20,000 enterprises are involved in the cooperation

The production of the MC-21 medium-range narrow-body passenger aircraft spans over 6.6 thousand km. 56 suppliers from Minsk to Komsomolsk-on-Amur are working on creating the aircraft's parts, components, and assemblies. In total, about 20,000 enterprises are involved in the cooperation on this project, according to the press service of Rostec.

To assemble the aircraft in Irkutsk, it is necessary to bring ball bearing products from Minsk, engines from Perm, fuel control and measurement systems from St. Petersburg, and navigation and power supply systems from the Moscow region.

MC-21 will be more comfortable than Airbus A320 and Boeing 737

The developers are creating a comfortable aircraft that will surpass Western counterparts. According to Nikita Shapiro, Head of the Conceptual Design Department of the Engineering Center of PJSC Yakovlev (part of UAC), this involves a new configuration of the habitable space, as well as improved sanitary and living conditions.

He explained that the engineers set the task of increasing the space for the passenger. At the same time, they took into account the requirements of regular airlines and low-cost carriers.

The passenger's living space was placed at the forefront, around which we "squeezed" the aircraft.

The fuselage was designed in such a way that the aircraft could accommodate 6 people in one row, and the central aisle allowed two passengers to pass each other. Based on the increased anthropometric indicators, the width of the MC-21 fuselage increased to 4.06 m. This is 30 cm more than the Boeing 737, and 11 cm more than the Airbus A320.
