Мощный «Владимир». Т-90 — основной танк российской армии

The vehicle differs from the T-90A in having a cast turret with less resistance against APFSDS

A sharp modification of the T-90 "Vladimir" tank of the 1992 model, which was returning to the repair base for comprehensive maintenance and restoration of a number of units, was noticed on one of the railway platforms in the rear.

Military expert Evgeny Damantsev reported that the vehicle differs from the T-90A in having a cast turret with a lower equivalent resistance against armor-piercing fin-stabilized discarding sabot projectiles of about 750 - 780 mm, as well as against cumulative effects - about 1050 mm. At the same time, he noted a higher resistance to high-explosive effects, which is characteristic of cast turrets.

The vehicle is equipped with a V-shaped 12-cylinder 4-stroke multi-fuel diesel V-84MS liquid-cooled with direct fuel injection and a driven centrifugal supercharger.

The fire control system is partially unified with the similar one on the T-80U. There is an adaptation for the use of 9M119M1 "Invar-M" ATGMs. The vehicle is equipped with a 1G46 day sight and a TPD-4 night infrared sight. The tank also received OTShU-1-7 infrared searchlights, which are part of the architecture of the "Shtora-1" optoelectronic countermeasures complex.

Earlier it became known that the Russian heavy flamethrower system TOS-1A "Solntsepek" on the front line received additional two-tier protection to the standard anti-cumulative anti-drone "visors".
