Russian spacecraft Soyuz MS-25 docked with the ISS

In two hours, the international crew will meet with colleagues in Earth orbit

The Russian spacecraft Soyuz MS-25 docked with the ISS using a two-day rendezvous scheme. At the Mission Control Center near Moscow, the docking operation was personally monitored by the head of Roscosmos State Corporation, Yuri Borisov.

Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky, NASA astronaut Tracy Dyson, and spaceflight participant Marina Vasilevskaya from the Republic of Belarus have arrived at the ISS.

After the opening of the transfer hatches at 20:00 Moscow time, they will be greeted by their colleagues in orbit: Oleg Kononenko, Nikolai Chub, Alexander Grebenkin, Loral O’Hara, Matthew Dominick, Michael Barratt, and Jeanette Epps.

Novitsky and Vasilevskaya will spend 14 days in orbit. They will return to Earth on April 6 aboard the Soyuz MS-24 spacecraft together with Loral O’Hara.

Tracy Dyson will spend 184 days in space and will land on September 23 aboard the Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft together with Russians Oleg Kononenko, the world record holder for time spent in space, and Nikolai Chub.

Soyuz MS-25 initially launched from Baikonur with a two-day delay — the launch on March 21 was canceled due to an emergency situation just minutes before launch, an automatic abort was triggered. No one was injured. The State Commission later discovered that there was a voltage drop in the chemical current source. The second launch on the backup date, March 23, was successful without incident.
