Russian-French SaM146 aircraft engines now have exclusively Russian spark plugs. And not only those.
ODK, a Rostec subsidiary, has developed and created import-substituted necessary components, in particular spark plugs.
According to Rostec, the spark plugs have successfully passed both autonomous tests, including in a thermal pressure chamber, and running-in as part of a power plant on an aircraft.
The corporation has already delivered the first batch of these products to SSJ-100 operators. It is known that about 40 systems and units in the SJ-100 have already been import-substituted for Russian ones, including the engine. But usually, developers do not specify what kind of equipment is involved.
Technical maintenance and repair systems for electronic components of these civil airliners have also been import-substituted. The first such center in Russia opened in September at the technology park of the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute of the Irkut Corporation (part of Rostec's UAC).
