The United States reacted to the transfer of another batch of fifth-generation Su-57 multirole fighters to the Russian Aerospace Forces. The American publication The Military Watch published an article dedicated to the Russian aircraft.
According to the editors, Russia lags behind its competitors in terms of Su-57 production volumes. For example, the United States produces about a hundred F-35s, and China produces just as many J-20s. However, the Russian fighter has a number of advantages, the publication emphasizes. In particular, the Su-57 is the only fifth-generation fighter in the world that participates in combat operations.
As The Military Watch clarifies, the Su-27's successor was designed to avoid increasing production costs. In addition, the Su-57 turned out to be more economical to operate than its predecessors.
The F-35 fighters, unlike the Su-57, cannot boast either. The production and operation of the American fifth-generation fighter are associated with significant costs, the editors of the publication summarized.
