Roscosmos announced today the launch date of the Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft and named the crew.
The launch of the Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft with the crew of the 21st visiting expedition is scheduled for March 13, 2024.
The crew members include Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky, Belarusian cosmonaut Marina Vasilevskaya, and NASA astronaut Tracy Dyson.
Oleg Novitsky and Marina Vasilevskaya will spend 12 days on the ISS and return to Earth on Soyuz MS-24 together with NASA astronaut Loral O’Hara, while Tracy Dyson will continue the flight.
The State Corporation reported that today two Belarusians, Marina Vasilevskaya and Anastasia Lenkova, arrived at the Cosmonaut Training Center, where they will begin training under the program for participants in the space flight. Anastasia Lenkova, along with cosmonaut Ivan Wagner and NASA astronaut Donald Roy Pettit, are part of the backup crew.
The training will take eight months and will include, in particular, studying the systems of the Soyuz MS manned spacecraft and the Russian segment of the ISS, training the crew to act in the event of an emergency landing in various climatic and geographical zones.
