The Belarusian ambassador to Russia, Dmitry Krutoy, said in an interview with RIA "Novosti" that the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Denis Manturov, proposed to set up the production of Russian airplanes LMS-901 "Baikal" and TVRS-44 "Ladoga" in Belarus.
"An important direction for us is the proposal of Denis Valentinovich Manturov to try to assemble or participate in the assembly of civil small aviation aircraft "Ladoga" and "Baikal" on the territory of Belarus. This is a unique opportunity for us, a new competence, a new sphere in essence, a new part of the economy", - said Dmitry Krutoy. He added that negotiations on this will take place at the Innoprom exhibition, which will be held in Yekaterinburg from July 10 to 13.
TVRS-44 "Ladoga" - a turboprop regional passenger aircraft, designed for 40-50 seats. As for the LMS-901 "Baikal", it is meant to replace the outdated An-2 "Kukuruznik" aircraft.
