МиГ-31 оказалось невозможно сбить существующими средствами ПВО

At an altitude of 30 km, the supersonic interceptor is unreachable for anti-aircraft missiles

The MiG-31 interceptor fighter cannot be shot down by existing air defense systems (ADS) when flying at a certain altitude, according to military analyst Alexander Artamonov.

Absolutely invulnerable

He noted that the MiG-31 fighter is capable of climbing to an altitude of up to 30 kilometers. His comment came against the backdrop of European accusations against Russia regarding alleged frequent violations of air borders.

The MiG-31 is capable of operating at altitudes of up to 30 kilometers — outside the range of any modern air defense systems. This is incredibly high; no system works at that altitude.

MiG-31 Armament

The aircraft is armed with a hypersonic aeroballistic missile "Kinzhal", a six-barreled 23 mm cannon, aerial bombs, and various types of air-to-surface and air-to-air missiles.

According to experts, the "Kinzhal" complex includes a single-stage solid-propellant guided missile 9M723, modernized for air launch, from the ground-based operational-tactical complex (OTRK) "Iskander-M".

MiG-31 Flight and Technical Characteristics and Design

The MiG-31 is built according to an aerodynamic scheme with a three-support retractable landing gear, a trapezoidal wing, twin-fin vertical tail, and two D-30F-6 engines in the tail section of the fuselage.

The aircraft's length is 22.68 m, combat radius is 720 km, crew is two people, take-off weight is 41 tons, practical range is 2500 km.

The aircraft is capable of tracking up to ten and engaging six aerial targets simultaneously. Official data on the number of fighters in service are unknown.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russia is ready to offer supplies of Su-57 and S-400 air defense systems abroad.
