China allegedly supplied Iran with long-range HQ-9 ("Red Banner-9") anti-aircraft missile systems (SAMs), which are called an analogue of the Russian S-400 "Triumph". However, experts are skeptical about this information, believing that it is not true.
The purchase and transfer of such complex weapons systems as long-range air defense requires a lot of time.
Even with the political will, the manufacture of equipment, personnel training, infrastructure preparation and deployment take many months, and often years.
The only exception may be the supply of light mobile systems such as MANPADS.
It is possible that Iran could have asked China to speed up deliveries if there were previously concluded contracts. However, there is no reliable data on such agreements between the two countries.
