By 2030, a significant increase in the number of robots is expected at Russian factories. According to forecasts, their number will increase from 14 thousand in 2024 to 99 thousand units by 2030. This will be influenced by "smart" technologies that are being introduced into production processes at enterprises.
According to a study by "Ultimatek", Positive Technologies and "Aquarius", the market for automated process control systems (APCS) in Russia reached 124 billion rubles in 2024. The growth was 50% per year. The main growth factors were projects to modernize large enterprises and an increase in the share of engineering services. Analysts expect the market to grow by 28% per year until 2027.
Dmitry Kozlov, founder of The12 Capital, emphasizes that the manufacturing industry has become the main sector for APCS, accounting for about 13-14% of Russia's GDP. In 2022, this sector produced products worth 67 trillion rubles. Olga Makova from "Reksoft" adds that automation in industries such as oil and gas and chemical is becoming a vital necessity.
However, not all experts agree with the optimistic forecasts. Mikhail Moryakov from "Uralenergotel" notes that after the key rate was raised in September 2024, many projects were suspended.
Before that, the market was growing by 20–30% year on year. After that, many projects began to be curtailed. In general, the market has a tendency to reduce the average check for an APCS system.
An important aspect of automation is "smart" installations, which allow collecting data in real time and optimizing production processes. Vladimir Volkov from "Rostelecom" claims that such systems can increase productivity by 20-30% and reduce the risk of accidents.
APCS for ventilation, compressor, pumping and generator units are the bricks that are in any production and in any industry.
Import substitution in the field of "smart" equipment is also becoming relevant. Until 2022, 90% of APCS used foreign platforms. After the departure of Western vendors, Russian enterprises faced a shortage of components. Nevertheless, Vladimir Volkov notes that the sector of pumps and compressors is less dependent on imports and continues to develop.
Thus, automation is becoming a key factor for increasing the competitiveness of Russian factories.
