The Soviet T-34 tank surpassed American vehicles of that time, including the M4 Sherman. This is evidenced by a secret report from the "Chrysler" company, made in 1951 by order of the CIA.
Sergey Ustyantsev, Candidate of Historical Sciences, scientific editor of "Uralvagonzavod," reviewed the document.
In terms of combat characteristics, the T-34-85 machine surpassed the "Sherman." In terms of its scientific and technical level, the tank meets the highest American standards. The materials used are in no way inferior in quality to American ones, and in some cases, better.
The historian added that American specialists noted the rough exterior finish of the Soviet armored vehicle and the high precision in the processing of parts where it was necessary.
The T-34 medium tank was produced from 1939 to 1948. Officially, the last modification of the T-34-85 was decommissioned from the Russian army in 1993.
Characteristics of the T-34 Tank:
- Combat weight — 32 t
