The Irkutsk Aviation Plant aims to reduce the cost of producing MS-21-310 medium-haul airliners, and the plant has already prepared such a program. Andrey Soynov, the general director of the enterprise, spoke about the details.
According to him, the cost reduction program involves reducing labor intensity and material intensity, as well as the material utilization rate.
At the same time, it is obvious that one of the components of the cost is fixed costs, which, depending on the output, will decrease per aircraft.
Soynov emphasized that by the start of production of 36 airliners per year, overhead costs will be minimal. By this time, the plant will purchase additional machine tools for mechanical processing and equipment for blanking and stamping production.
Currently, the cost of one MS-21 is within 9 billion rubles, but for the first buyer, Aeroflot, the price was set at 3.6 billion rubles as part of state support.
Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov noted that after 2030, scaling up production and reducing costs will allow reaching a cost of about 7.4 billion rubles per aircraft — such a price was recognized as fair and profitable by an independent audit.
