A new modification of the jet "Geran-5" with the index "K5" has appeared. "Voenny Osvedomitel" (Military Informant), citing foreign sources, reported that this particular aircraft received a modified fuselage and the "Susanin" optical trajectory correction system.

According to the source, "Susanin" uses optical correction, and a similar approach in principle is applied in the "Otblesk-U" system on Kh-101 missiles launched from Tu-160 bombers.

According to the published description, this navigation method allows correcting the drone's position based on images of the underlying surface and pre-loaded terrain data. For the jet Geran, this could potentially mean an additional ability to correct the route based on terrain images, and not just on pre-set coordinates.

The overall production potential of Geran-5 drones in Russia was estimated at approximately 5 thousand units per month. Foreign media reported that Iran allegedly requested these drones.
