Yakutia Airlines has temporarily suspended ticket sales for intra-republican flights departing until October 24, 2026, inclusive. The decision was made due to awaiting a component for the right landing gear strut of the Canadian Bombardier Q300 aircraft — the only one in service.

Recall that the new Russian turboprop Il-114-300 is expected to become the key aircraft to replace foreign equipment in Yakutia.

Rosaviatsiya issued a basic type certificate for the Il-114-300, however, the aircraft can currently only fly at temperatures from -9 to +25 °C and exclusively on asphalt runways. Approval for unpaved airfields, which form the basis of Yakutia's route network, is not expected before 2027.

Amidst the postponement of serial deliveries of domestic airliners to 2028, the regional authorities are looking for alternatives. In May 2026, the republic began negotiations with China on the purchase or lease of turboprop Y-7s to maintain communication with hard-to-reach settlements.
