Rostec has revealed additional information about the equipment of the modernized Yak-130M combat trainer aircraft. The aircraft received an onboard radar station, a suspended thermal imager, and new four-tube launchers.

According to the state corporation, the Yak-130M's radar operates on air and ground targets, and also takes into account terrain and weather conditions. It interacts with a suspended thermal imager, which, according to Rostec, allows for continued observation of targets at night and in poor visibility.

A separate change was the four-tube launchers. The manufacturer attributes the expansion of combat capabilities to the Yak-130's maneuverability and its ability to fly controllably at different speeds.

The company stated that the combination of onboard equipment and flight characteristics allows for effective use of the aircraft against low-speed air targets.

The Yak-130M's power plant includes two AI-222-25 twin-spool turbofan engines manufactured by ODK. Each engine develops up to 2.5 tons of thrust at maximum mode, and an automated control system monitors its operation.

The aircraft is being created on the basis of the serial Yak-130, which is used for pilot training and is operated in Russia and abroad.
