In its early years of operation, the Superjet gained a reputation as a problematic aircraft due to numerous reports of malfunctions. However, upon analyzing the causes of failures, it was found that a significant portion of the problems was not related to the aircraft's design, but to foreign components, explained aviation expert Roman Gusarov to "Pervyy Tekhnicheskiy".

According to him, the analysis revealed a connection between failures and Western cooperation. The aircraft manufacturer could not fully control the quality and service life of all imported components installed on the machine.

And it really did have problems at the initial stage. But all premature failures were related to the French part.

The situation with the power plant turned out to be particularly indicative, the aviation expert clarified. The early Superjet was equipped with the SaM146 engine of Russian-French production, in which the French side was responsible for the "hot" section.

"Pervyy Tekhnicheskiy" reported that the domestic SSJ-New or SJ-100 is not a modernization, but an aircraft rewritten from scratch. Import substitution reaches 97%, which means replacing everything: from software to hydraulic systems, from the PD-8 engine to navigation devices.

Oleg Smirnov, a member of the Public Council of Rostransnadzor, explained how the decision of the then Prime Minister of Italy, Silvio Berlusconi, affected the fate of the Superjet abroad.
