The first production MC-21-310 was sent to Zhukovsky even before the completion of type certification. This means that global changes no longer threaten the airliner, explained aviation expert Oleg Panteleev.
According to him, the designers are fully confident in the solutions incorporated into the import-substituted MC-21 project.
That is, they are convinced that the aircraft's design meets the flight safety requirements. Therefore, it is already possible to produce aircraft in their serial configuration, without fear that any problems will be identified during certification tests that will require a redesign.
At the same time, sending the aircraft with factory number MS.0014 to Moscow does not accelerate the certification itself, Panteleev clarified. The testing program is carried out by other aircraft specifically involved in certification flights.
Viktor Gorbachev, head of the "Airport" association, found no reason for joy after the first flight of the production MC-21. According to him, it is still necessary to establish real operation with passengers on board.
