Sales of Solaris cars in Russia continue to fall. In July 2026, dealers sold 1490 cars of this brand, which is 55% less than in the same period last year (3326 cars), said Sergey Tselikov, head of the analytical agency "Autostat".
For seven months of 2026, Solaris sales amounted to 12,771 cars – 8% lower than last year's result (13,806 cars). The brand finally left the top ten best-selling brands in the Russian market, falling behind Jaecoo, whose sales amounted to 14,756 units.
Currently, I estimate the stock of Solaris commercial vehicles at about 8 thousand units. At the current sales rates, dealers should have enough until the end of the year.
The main reason for the decline is the halt of production at the former Hyundai plant in St. Petersburg due to the depletion of Hyundai and Kia car kit stocks. Korean partners stopped supplying components after leaving Russia, and AGR did not have its own production of components and assemblies. Since the beginning of 2026, not a single Solaris car has been assembled at the enterprise – dealers were only shipped cars from batches produced in 2025. In total, from March 2024 to December 2025, just over 70 thousand cars were produced. At the same time, in August last year, Solaris confidently held its position in the top 10 of the Russian car market and even surpassed brands such as Omoda and Exeed.
As previously reported, the former Hyundai plant in Sestroretsk is being prepared for reconstruction. Presumably, the assembly of Chinese brand Omoda cars may begin at the site.
