The first years of PD-8 operation will almost certainly not be without the identification of new problems. But even the world's largest manufacturers have encountered malfunctions after the start of serial deliveries, Andrey Patrakov, founder of the flight safety service RunAvia and former Airbus auditor, told "Pervy Tekhnichesky".
According to him, it is impossible to completely exclude such situations even with the use of the most modern design and testing methods.
Even if you were to gather the best minds on the planet now and give them the task of making an engine as quickly as possible, and they did it, there would still be childhood diseases.
The main question, in his opinion, is how many such problems will arise and how quickly the industry will be able to eliminate them.
Patrakov emphasized that what is critical is not the presence of defects itself, but the manufacturer's ability to identify them systematically and prevent repeated occurrences.
