Small arms production is an important segment of the Russian military-industrial complex (MIC). Russian weapons are in high demand in the USA, despite the sanctions imposed by the West. This was stated by Alan Lushnikov, head of the Kalashnikov concern.
Before the sanctions were imposed in 2014, we worked well in the American market, and Kalashnikov was extremely popular there.
According to him, Kalashnikov assault rifles, which get into the USA "by various means", are "extremely popular" even now.
Lushnikov stated that after the increased sanctions pressure in 2022, "the defense industry quickly restructured." It was not easy for Russian specialists to develop all directions at once, explained the head of the concern.
Kalashnikov was tasked with scaling up production many times over. Therefore, the factories were switched to a three-shift schedule to maintain round-the-clock operation, Lushnikov noted.
The problem of personnel shortage was solved by significantly increasing employees' salaries. At enterprises within the concern's perimeter, they began to promptly modify manufactured products, taking into account the wishes of Russian Armed Forces servicemen.
Kalashnikov also established the shipment of products to the troops and maintained the volume of product supplies to the civilian market, Lushnikov concluded.
