The first footage, presumably of the new S-71K "Kovyor" cruise missile for the Su-57 fighter, has appeared online. This was reported by analysts from the "Voenny Osvedomitel" Telegram channel.

The loitering munition can hit targets at a distance of up to 300 km and carries a 250 kg warhead. It uses a small-sized REYNOLDS R500 turbofan engine.

However, the "Tekhnosfera Rossiya" publication stated that the S-71K should be more accurately called a guided module for bomb placement, rather than a cruise missile.

Military expert Boris Dzherelievsky stated that the design and guidance system of the S-71K increase the missile's resistance to electronic warfare systems.

Abroad, it is believed that the new missile will allow the Su-57 to use high-precision weapons significantly cheaper than classic Kh-59MK2 cruise missiles.
