The first updated UAZ "Pickup" rolled off the assembly line of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant. The car received a new power unit, transmission, and Russian components for safety systems.

The main change was the new aggregate combination. It includes a 2-liter diesel engine, a 6-speed gearbox, and an electromechanical transfer case. The six-speed transmission will be used not only with the diesel but also with the gasoline engine.

The updated "Pickup" also received a new steering wheel with a magnesium alloy frame of Russian production. The equipment also included new airbags.

The production of key components for modernized vehicles is organized by Sollers Group enterprises. This applies to power units, transmissions, and elements of safety systems.

The "Pickup" became one of the first models of the updated UAZ lineup. Next, the commercial "Profi" will undergo changes. Earlier it was reported that the updated "Patriot" should reach dealers by autumn 2026.
