The Russian low-orbit satellite constellation "Rassvet" by "Bureau 1440" has started providing several hours of stable daily communication in the combat zone, according to the Telegram channel "Tekhnik BPLA". 12 out of 16 satellites, launched in late March, have reached a working altitude of about 550 km. Three more spacecraft are still gaining altitude, and one satellite was lost due to a manufacturing defect.

During the constellation's passage over a specific area, a "communication window" lasting about an hour to an hour and a half is formed. The satellites are in orbits that allow them to pass within line of sight up to four times a day, but stable communication with ground terminals is provided during two to three passes.

Theoretically, the system can be used for satellite communication, as well as for controlling marine drones and heavy strike and reconnaissance UAVs. Given the plans to expand the constellation – up to 156 satellites by the end of 2026 – round-the-clock coverage may be possible in the future.
