Cadets of the Ryazan Guards Higher Airborne Command School are mastering the newest AK-12K assault rifles during tactical exercises. The weapons are supplied to the educational institution in "Multicam" camouflage.
The assault rifle was developed at the request of assault and reconnaissance units. The AK-12K is distinguished by its compact dimensions: a barrel length of 290 mm and a weight without a magazine of 3.4 kg. This makes it convenient for combat in confined spaces and allows for faster target acquisition.
As previously reported by Sergey Urzhumtsev, chief designer of the Kalashnikov concern, the weapon was created taking into account combat experience. The assault rifle began to be supplied to the troops in 2025, and in 2026, the concern continues to increase production volumes. Kalashnikov claims to receive positive feedback on this weapon. The rifle comes with a low-noise firing device, and the "Multicam" color scheme provides camouflage in the field.
