Kaliningrad shipbuilders are preparing for sandblasting work on the large freezer trawler (BMRT) "Viktor Gavrilov" of Project 5670FT, which is being built at the "Yantar" shipyard. This became known during an inspection trip to the enterprise by Sergey Abdykerov, Director of the Department of Shipbuilding Industry and Marine Technology of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The vessel is being completed on water. The main switchboard has already been loaded onto it, and workers are sealing (hermetizing) the RSW tanks (for chilled seawater).
Work is underway on constructability and testing of premises, preparation for sandblasting for further loading of equipment.
The largest BMRT is being built by order of the Fishing Collective Farm named after Lenin. The vessel is designed for fishing, processing, and storing fish.

"Viktor Gavrilov" was laid down at the shipyard in Kaliningrad in 2019. In January 2025, it was launched. The vessel is expected to be handed over to the customer in 2026. The trawler will fish in the Northwest Pacific.
