The large freezer fishing trawler (BMRT) "Viktor Gavrilov" of project 5670FT was launched at the Baltic Shipyard "Yantar", part of USC. This was reported by the company's press service.
Specialists have completed the installation of bow and stern thrusters, the shaft line, and large-sized equipment. The structural integrity of the compartments was also checked, bottom and side fittings were installed, electrical and plumbing saturation was carried out, and other important works were performed.
The vessel is designed for catching pelagic fish species and will be used as a floating base for processing the catch. The trawler will be equipped with modern fishing gear, fish processing equipment, and freezer holds for storing finished products.
Today, this is the largest BMRT under construction at Russian shipyards. The technical characteristics of the vessel will ensure the safety of navigation, the efficiency and environmental friendliness of fishing and production, as well as comfortable conditions for the crew to work and rest.
After the launching ceremony, "Viktor Gavrilov" will take its place on the shipyard's outfitting quay. The vessel is scheduled to be delivered in February 2026.
The trawler's displacement is more than 14,000 tons, its length is 121 meters, and its width is 21.6 meters. The vessel's speed is 15 knots, and it is designed for a crew of 150 people.
