Cooperation between Russia and Belarus in the aviation industry is reaching a new level. The plant that will produce wings and fuselage for the new LMS-192 "Osvey" aircraft has been determined.
It is the Polotsk private enterprise "Gidropress", as reported by General Director Alexander Lukashok.
Our press will form the wings, fuselage, and other elements of the aircraft.
This refers to high-tonnage press equipment used in the manufacture of large power elements of the airframe. Such technologies allow forming load-bearing parts of the structure with high precision, which is critical for strength and aerodynamics.
Initially, Russia planned to build 158 "Osvey" aircraft by 2030, but then the plans were cut to 28 units – volumes decreased by 5.5 times.
