The new multi-purpose aircraft LMS-192 "Osvey" is intended not only for regional transportation, but also for state aviation tasks. This was stated by Ekaterina Zgirovskaya, official representative of the Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA).
She confirmed that the project is at the stage of design documentation development, but did not disclose any details about the flight of the prototype.
We very much hope that this 19-passenger aircraft will help both Belarus and Russia in regional transportation, as well as for state aviation tasks.
At the international exhibition "National Security" in Minsk, the "Osvey" was shown only as a model. The liner was named after the second largest lake in Belarus; it is being built jointly by UZGA and the 558th Aircraft Repair Plant in Baranovichi.
Initially, Russia planned to build 158 "Osvey" aircraft by 2030, but then the plans were cut to 28 units — volumes decreased by 5.5 times.
