Engineers of the Central Marine Design Bureau (TsMKB) "Almaz" (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation) have developed the Project 20382 "Tigr" corvette. A model of the warship in its export version was presented at the USC stand at the International Maritime Defense Show "Flot-2026". This was reported by the corporation's press service.
Project 20382 "Tigr" corvettes are designed for combat operations against surface, underwater, and air forces of the enemy, combat escort of ship groups, striking coastal targets with artillery fire, and protecting territorial waters.
USC emphasized that corvettes are inferior to frigates in displacement but possess significant firepower. Ships of this project are capable of providing protection for coastal borders as a second echelon (following the main strike forces of the fleet).
Armament of Project 20382 "Tigr" corvette:
- anti-ship missile system
- sonar complex
- torpedo weapon
- operational-tactical missile system
For the first time on ships of this displacement, permanent basing of an anti-submarine helicopter with aviation-technical means and fuel reserves is provided. At the same time, the basic armament composition will be formed taking into account the customer's needs, USC concluded.
