New LST "Kayman" presented by USC: up to 400 marines, 45 units of equipment, and landing 150 km from shore

Project 11711 ship received modular protection against FPV drones and the ability to integrate for any combat missions

At the International Naval Show "FLOT-2026", the project of a new large landing ship "Kayman" was presented. The development was shown by the United Shipbuilding Corporation, and the concept was based on Project 11711, created by the Nevsky Design Bureau of USC.

The "Kayman" is positioned as a modern universal LST for amphibious assault operations. It is designed for the sea transfer of troops and equipment and landing on unprepared coasts in cooperation with naval forces. The design provides for the possibility of expanding combat capabilities for the tasks of a specific customer and changing the nature of combat operations.

The ship is designed to accommodate up to 400 marines and transport up to 45 units of medium-weight equipment or up to 12 units of heavy equipment. For landing troops, landing craft and two helicopters are provided, allowing operations up to 150 kilometers from the ship.

Special emphasis is placed on adaptation to modern threats. The project allows for the installation of systems to combat unmanned boats and FPV drones, including detection means, electronic warfare, and all-round protection using large-caliber weapons. The integration of helicopter-type unmanned aerial vehicles for reconnaissance and target designation is also provided.

Additionally, the ship is capable of performing tasks of laying mine and net barriers, as well as deploying hydroacoustic buoys for underwater situation control.
