"TMH-Electrotech" has sent prototypes of new DTA-460T traction motors for the promising 3TE30 freight gas-diesel locomotive for certification tests. The development of this locomotive is being carried out within the structure of "Transmashholding".
According to the company, two asynchronous electric motors, manufactured in Novocherkassk, have been sent for testing. They are intended for the new locomotive, which operates on diesel fuel and liquefied natural gas. The documentation for the engine has been assigned the letter "O", which signifies the completion of the experimental design development stage and the transition to certification procedures.
The power of the DTA-460T is declared at 460 kW, the nominal rotational speed is 577 revolutions per minute, and the mass of one unit is about 2.2 tons.
In preparation for serial production, the enterprise manufactured 38 prototypes, 32 of which have already been transferred to the Novocherkassk Electric Locomotive Plant for the assembly of wheel-motor blocks. These kits are then planned to be sent to the Bryansk Machine-Building Plant for testing as part of the locomotive.
The prototype of the 3TE30 locomotive itself is currently in the assembly stage at the Bryansk Machine-Building Plant. The machine is being created according to the technical requirements of Russian Railways and is designed to transport trains weighing up to 7100 tons, including on difficult sections of the Baikal-Amur Mainline. The project provides for a high degree of unification with the 2ES9 electric locomotive.
