An An-2 with three engines was created in Yeysk, while the "Baikal" is not flying yet

Two Subaru engines will be placed under the wings, and a Toyota engine in front

The design company "Tekhnoregion" from Yeysk has developed a new aircraft based on the An-2, but with three engines. Footage appeared on social networks.

Project head Sergey Borisenko said that a 400 hp Toyota engine is installed in the nose, and two turbocharged Subaru units of 250 hp each will be placed under the wings.

Now we are installing what God sent. A total of 900 hp. All have forged pistons. We will fly it and see... These engines are no longer mass-produced. Therefore, we plan to use three 5.7-liter Toyota engines of 400 hp each. A total of 1200 hp.

The first flight of the aircraft is expected to take place in two months.

Recall that a new regional LMS-901 "Baikal" is currently being developed in Russia to replace the An-2. In 2026, it will not go into mass production.

Earlier, "Pervyy Tekhnicheskiy" in a large article compared the capabilities of the An-2 with the "Baikal". The Soviet aircraft turned out to be surprisingly versatile and unpretentious, although it raised questions about speed and fuel consumption.
