The new regional aircraft Il-114-300 will be presented to the general public for the first time at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). This was reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin by Denis Pogodin, the director of the airliner program and first deputy head of the Lukhovitsky Aircraft Plant.
According to him, the new turboprop Il-114-300 should become one of the key aircraft for updating Russia's regional aviation.
At SPIEF, we plan to show the aircraft, and we would be very happy if you found the opportunity to inspect it personally.
The Il-114-300 is being created as a replacement for the Soviet An-24 and An-26, as well as foreign ATR 72 and Bombardier. SPIEF will be held from June 3 to 6.
OAK announced that the aircraft's certification will be completed in the near future, although tests of the Il-114-300 on unpaved runways will only begin in the autumn. Some active pilots doubted the effectiveness of the airliner on such surfaces due to the low position of the TV7-117ST-01 engines.
