The process of replacing imported components on the civilian Tu-214 aircraft should lead to an increase in the competitiveness of the domestic aviation industry as a whole. This was stated by Alexander Bukhtoyarov, an expert at the Presidential Academy in St. Petersburg.

Special attention should be paid to the need for close interaction between developers, manufacturers, and operators to promptly resolve emerging issues and achieve set goals.

Earlier it became known that one of the reasons for delays and downtime in the production of Tu-214 was the dependence of the Kazan Aircraft Plant on foreign components.

Despite all the problems, this aircraft could become the main option for the industry in the next five years.

Rostec stated that the Tu-214 still needs to be "brought to perfection" after design changes.
