Bottom-up initiative: Irkutsk Aviation Plant workers accelerated MS-21 production

The company's employees figured out how to do the work faster and easier

At the Irkutsk Aviation Plant (IAZ), workers implemented ideas to accelerate the production process in the workshops. This was reported by the company's press service.

For example, Vyacheslav Shneider, an engineer in the flight test unit, suggested storing adapters for blowing stands not in the tool distribution storeroom, but directly in the stands, which reduced the time required to prepare the stands for operation.

A laser module-positioner for the overhead crane was the result of the joint work of process engineers Nikolay Melnik, Vladimir Naumov, and Andrey Serebryakov.

The positioner allows for quick and accurate determination of the location of the moved cargo.

Process engineer Vladimir Lukyanov and process technician Anastasia Miroshnikova proposed and manufactured protective pads for bolt heads for the coordinate measuring machine.

These cap-pads prevent damage to products during their fixation before measurements begin.

In 2025, the plant completed the reconstruction of the main step-down substation. The updated substation will meet all the growing production needs for the serial launch of MS-21 civil aircraft.
