Certification of the MC-21 and the "Superjet" under Russian and international standards makes it possible to intensify their promotion in foreign markets. This was stated by Anton Alikhanov, head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.
He pointed to the absolute competitiveness and strong commercial potential of Russian civil aircraft.
As of today, the MC-21 and SJ-100 aircraft are at the stage of certification tests. Certification under Russian and international standards, as well as the start of operation, will in turn make it possible to intensify the promotion of the aircraft in foreign markets.
Rostec head Sergey Chemezov noted that the MC-21 may complete certification by the end of 2026, while the SJ-100 may do so as early as the first half of the year. However, exactly when domestic carriers will receive the airliners remains unknown.
According to Alikhanov, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is looking for ways to reduce the cost of the MC-21 and SJ-100 by attracting new suppliers.
