The General Director of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), Vadim Badeha, during a working visit to the Irkutsk Aviation Plant "Yakovlev" decided to change the head of the enterprise, reports the Telegram channel AviaComments. It is claimed that Alexander Veprev, who headed the plant since 2008, was dismissed.
According to the channel, Andrey Soynov has been appointed to his place, who previously headed the Production Center in Komsomolsk-on-Amur (branch of PJSC "Yakovlev" - "Regional Aircraft"), where the Sukhoi Superjet is produced. The Irkutsk plant, in turn, produces MC-21 aircraft, Su-30SM fighters and Yak-130 combat trainers.
According to the channel, employees of the enterprise associate Veprev's resignation with his position on personnel issues - allegedly he opposed staff reductions. There have been no official comments from UAC or the plant yet.
