The corvettes "Sovershennyy" and "Rezkiy", belonging to the Pacific Fleet of Russia, have entered the port of Sihanoukville in Cambodia. The crews of 262 sailors will remain in the country until April 8. The purpose of the visit is to discuss cooperation in the field of defense and security.
The welcoming ceremony was attended by the Russian Ambassador to Cambodia Anatoly Borovik, Deputy Commander of the Ream base Rear Admiral In Sokhemara, and a group of Cambodian sailors.
The Russian delegation will hold negotiations with the leadership of the Ream naval base, the governor of the province, and representatives of the Ministry of National Defense of Cambodia. The program also includes informal sports events between the crews.
It should be noted that this is not the first visit of the Pacific Fleet ships to the region. In April 2025, a group consisting of the corvettes "Rezkiy", "Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov" and the support vessel "Pechenga" entered Sihanoukville. Then the five-day program included official meetings, excursions and joint exercises with Cambodian colleagues.
The technical characteristics of the Project 20380 corvettes, to which the "Sovershennyy" and "Rezkiy" belong, allow them to effectively solve tasks in the near sea zone. The ships are equipped with "Uran" missile systems, A-190 artillery installations, and helicopter hangars. The autonomy of navigation up to 15 days and a range of 4000 miles make them suitable for long voyages, including routes to Southeast Asia.
