A new stage has begun in the construction of the first Egyptian nuclear power plant "El Dabaa": a thrust ring for the reactor plant of the first power unit has arrived at the construction site.
The equipment plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and stability of the reactor's operation. The main function of the thrust ring is to fix the reactor vessel, which prevents its lateral displacement during operation. The product is mounted on the flange of the reactor vessel. For this purpose, special keys are used, which are fixed on the thrust frame. The frame structure, in turn, is rigidly fixed in the concrete base of the reactor shaft, which guarantees reliable positioning of the core.
The delivered structure weighs about 18 tons. The production of such a critical component was carried out at the facilities of the Izhora plant, which is part of the Machine-Building Division of the Rosatom State Corporation. The company specializes in the production of equipment for the nuclear industry and has the necessary competencies to create high-precision parts.
The logistics operation for the transportation of the cargo was carried out by sea. The equipment was sent from the port of St. Petersburg and successfully reached the shores of Egypt.
