The carrier's press service noted that this is the first departure in a chain of flights. Red Wings operates flights from Muscat International Airport.

For the flight, the airline is using a safe route that passes through the airspace of Oman, Iraq, Turkey, and Russia.

The total flight will take seven hours, while the Tu-124's performance with its engines makes it possible to operate the flight without intermediate landings.

Russian and foreign carriers continue to adjust flight schedules amid the closure of airspace in a number of Middle Eastern countries. The work is being carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Transport and Rosaviatsiya.

United Aircraft Corporation and the State Transport Leasing Company of S7 Group signed a memorandum on the supply of 100 new Tu-214 aircraft, starting in 2029.
