Russian and foreign carriers continue to adjust flight schedules amid the closure of airspace in several Middle Eastern countries. The work is being carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Transport and Rosaviatsiya.

As of the morning of March 1, 62 flights between Russia and the countries of the region have already been canceled. Of these, 38 flights were postponed by Russian airlines and 31 by foreign carriers. More than 75% of all cancellations are for destinations to the UAE and back.

Funds have been returned to customers for more than 4,000 tickets. Contact centers continue to work with passenger requests.

The Ministry of Transport and Rosaviatsiya emphasized that they are monitoring the observance of passenger rights and maintaining constant communication with carriers. The interaction system was built in advance, taking into account previous periods of tension in the region.

About six to eight thousand Russians are in third countries due to the closure of the sky in the Middle East as a result of a new round of conflict, the Association of Tour Operators of Russia noted.

Currently, about six to eight thousand tourists with tickets for connecting flights through the Persian Gulf countries cannot get to Russia.

The press service of the association added that the closure of airspace by a number of Persian Gulf states, including Qatar and the UAE, affected both direct flights and transit tourists.
