Russia is in no way inferior to the world’s leading countries in the aviation industry. This opinion was voiced by Vadim Badekha, CEO of the United Aircraft Corporation (OAK, part of Rostec).
He pointed out that the Indian market is important for the Russian Federation as one of the fastest-growing. According to Badekha, there is fierce competition there, with all foreign manufacturers and global companies present in the country.
Competition is very important for us. Today we see that we are in no way inferior to our competitors. This is very important for us, including from the point of view of price parameters and flight performance characteristics.
At the end of January, OAK brought the Il-114-300 and SJ-100 to an international exhibition in India, although they have not even yet received type certification in the Russian Federation. All procedures, as the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Rostec have repeatedly promised, will be completed by the end of 2026.
Honored Pilot of the USSR Oleg Smirnov told \"Pervomu Tekhnicheskomu\" that Russia’s aviation industry should still develop international cooperation rather than isolate itself. He described cooperation within BRICS as promising.
