The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec) will refine the import-substituted version of the MC-21 aircraft. The "Aviation of Russia" portal specified which elements of the aircraft could be lightened to improve aerodynamic and flight performance.
The planned activities include preparing a report on solutions aimed at reducing the weight of the airframe. The deadline for completing this stage is set for no later than December 31, 2026.
Including the wing box structure, center wing section, landing gear compartment, wing mechanization elements, wing-fuselage fairing, pylon, individual fuselage elements, and aircraft systems.
Earlier it became known that the Cabinet allowed UAC to allocate 2.2 billion rubles to this task.
The head of the flight safety service RunAvia, Andrei Patrakov, explained to "The First Technical" that the decrease in the flight range of the MC-21-310 is due to import-substituted composite materials.
