PJSC "Yakovlev" is considering the possibility of creating an extended version of the SJ-100 aircraft for 120-130 seats. This was announced by Alexander Dolotovsky, Deputy Managing Director of the enterprise - Director of the Regional Aircraft branch.
According to him, modern trends in the air transportation market indicate the 100+ seat segment as the most promising. The competencies and cooperation already formed within the SJ-100 project create a good basis for this.
Dolotovsky recalled that the "Sukhoi Civil Aircraft" company was considering options for creating an extended version of the Sukhoi Superjet aircraft as part of the SSJ-130, SSJ-NG and SSJ-SV projects.
The highlight of the latest machine was that using the same SaM146 power plant, it was possible to create an aircraft for 120-130 seats with a range of about 3,500 km, satisfactory take-off and landing characteristics and an attractive price.
He explained that the effect was achieved through the use of a new wing of a larger area and elongation, which compensated for the decrease in thrust-to-weight ratio of the machine with increasing size.
Now this idea is being considered for an import-substituted platform within the SJ-Next project. If a decision is made to launch the work, such a machine can be created in 5-6 years with reasonable investments. To produce in parallel with a hundred-seat machine at the same production facilities. Design thought does not stand still. We are already thinking about development for the next 20-30 years.
It should be noted that certification tests of the import-substituted Superjet SJ-100 with PD-8 engines are in full swing. During the next flight on December 11, the aircraft with tail number 94024rose to a height of 12,276 meters. 41 enterprises were involved in the work on the aircraft, Yakovlev noted.
