The Russian industry has achieved great success in import substitution of ship equipment. This was stated by Igor Zubarev, a member of the Federation Council.
According to the senator, the list of Russian components for ships has increased to almost 290 items. This indicates a significant increase in production capabilities.
However, there are difficulties in developing powerful main engines, which is typical not only for Russia, but also for the entire global shipbuilding industry, Zubarev noted. In any case, the country is accumulating an engineering base, he stressed.
We will sooner or later finish the issue of localization in the territory of the Russian Federation.
He recalled that commercial shipbuilding is now actively developing. 25 floating fish processing plants are ready. But the construction of new trawlers and crab catching vessels is delayed due to the uniqueness of these projects, the parliamentarian summarized.
